I’s been
some time that I haven’t talked about a movie good enough for me to spend time
to research and express my appreciation of it, but this is a movie that I’ve
told already to my princess (Giorgia) and Queen (Michele) to come over to where I’m imprisoned
(with
the luxuries to be in downtown, 24/7 caregiving and superlative internet
connection) to
watch it with them, I believe I’m going to watch it again at least another 8
times before I can say “I’m done”.
This movie
superficially is about the pain of a father who loses his daughter when she was
5 or 6 y/o, a pain that makes him go down the road of being crazier by the day
to the point that he no longer wishes to keep living, disregards what he had
built in his life of work, his business partners and all else a man can build
in a very successful life using his God given talents.
In his
daily madness and disregard for what still makes sense to normal people to do,
he decides to write letters to death, time and love that he considers involved
in his tragedy.
This is what
makes this movie truly enjoyable because his business partners – all very
concerned for the future of their business – and obviously for themselves – hire
three professional actors to play the parts of death, time and love.
This is the
part of the movie that makes it lighter because – even if its subject is very
dark and gloomy these 3 actors make it funny and almost comedic.
Overall
however this is a beautiful movie to describe very well the power of the
uniquely human sentiment, or the power of love.
Besides
that love is the most powerful sentiment in this universe, love is truly what
makes every wheel of life to keep spinning, not only your own life but that of the entire
world.
In thinking
of this you can see love behind some of the wars and most brutal facts in human
kind that took place over the past 2K years, for this only, I strongly recommend
watching it with your best friends BUT without any alcohol.
