MUSIC AND THE BRAIN

Through my Amazon membership (now screwed up by my new incompetent conservator) I watch the presentation to a series of documentaries about the strong relationship between music and our brain.
As I had posted several times here before, my intense love for music started with playing piano when I was a teenager especially for all composed by J. S. Bach and magnificently performed (or re-composed )by the pianist genius Glenn Gould (I own every single DVD movie and music CD ever made of him).
The neuropsychologist in this video (I can watch the full 24 minutes long documentary in Amazon) says that not only today is very clear – and can be documented with scans – the effects of music to our brain, but that music affects the human brain since millions of years ago across cultures and geographical areas, in fact a flute was recently found that had been built with good technique several tens of thousands of years ago by what’s believed to have been a Neanderthal individual.
Especially now that we are dealing with the “string theory” (from quantum physics) we are hoping that we’ll be able to find our God creator (Jehovah= universal gravity, omnipresent and omniscient) I find it fascinating that the probes launched several years ago to reach other planets in our galaxy to find other intelligence, carry disk recordings of music from our planet (I love that among them there’s Glenn Gould playing a fugue composed by Bach) simply because music is today considered a truly universal language.
What the neuropsychologist Patel says too is that the “science” he belongs to, has recently developed innovative ways to determine the functionality of a damaged brain using scans and MRI’s while the subject being studied listens to music, to see what parts of the brain are activated and in what way (VERY MUCH different from determining the way pictures of cats and stones are seen….).
This to me shows how serious the damage to the brain of both the loser in Oxnard and of my eternal love is, I could say very much to explain with real examples why I believe so, but this would be too much for this simple , short and clear post, just watch the Youtube video and go to my linked websites.
