Plenty are
the definitions of consciousness, this is the one I like because it’s simple, “to be conscious is the normal state of being awake and
able to understand what is happening around you”, many famous philosophers,
theologians and leaders have been dealing for centuries with this concept and
it seems that only now we have a better understanding of this term, I believe
that the best definition of this word is the one given by the physicist Michio
Kaku in this Youtube.
I’m truly
fascinated by the effects that quantum theories have on consciousness simply
because quantum physics states that nothing is truly what it looks like and
consciousness is being aware of what we see when awake, careful and pay
attention to our surroundings (no matter what we can see).
I see in
fact that theologians and physicists disprove – in their own ways – what quantum
physics can mathematically prove.
However, as
for me (and
my injured brain) consciousness
in us humans parallels instinct in animals, meaning that our consciousness
gives information to us, much like animals react to specific signals – from the
outside or internal genetic makeup – in identical ways, depending on the
species, in several instances BUT never in cases of reproduction, a “mother”
bear acts just like a “mother” penguin, that acts like a “mother” whale or lion
etc.… meaning that no matter what species you look at, the taking care of
newborn is identical across the line, call it love or instinct everyone acts in
the same identical way, with the huge difference that humans have the consciousness
that drives what we call instinct in animals (that can only be in heaven as the reflection of our
mind)
