I post here yet another movie review made using the infinite
amount of time completely empty of anything to do (my black hole from now on) I'm
actually undecided if this movie could take the first place of what I named my Bible
movie", or the "what dreams may come" and what my (injured)
brain makes me understand that this is yet some visionary and futuristic
attempt to figure out where we came from, or who we really are.
In fact the main line in this movie is the research and
discovery of another civilization in a planet kind of far from ours but
somewhat similar to earth, with a sun too.
I believe this movie to be a well made mix of several
different concepts as old as we are, therefore I'm going to try to name them
here:
- "recent discoveries" around our planet of pictures (or graffiti's) that show very tall men meeting with those who made the pictures (or paintings) several thousands of years earlier(ancient sci-fi).
- the main scientist (the boss) is a woman with a neck chain holding a Catholic cross (religion)
- the future of space exploration made possible with the future of our technological evolution
- all that's different - strange - unknown, is unpleasant and scary
As several movies reviews I post below say, I too believe
that this movie should have been the first in a sequel of other movies, it was
very well done and used very good special effects plus the connection to the
movie series "Alien" is very evident, therefore since no other
Prometheus-like movie hasn't been done I can only think that something
financially wrong must have happened to this one, because if a success would
have followed, I can't even think to the number of Prometheus 1 ,2, 3..... we'd
see now.
The low profits from this movie is actually the only reason
I can think to justify why there's one only because if I could see and/or buy a
new one I'd surely do it.
