What Freud
called the pre-conscious, or what some refer to as the subconscious that’s much
larger than the conscious mind and accounts for around 50-60% of your brain
capabilities.
What’s coming here below is
totally from my understanding of my reading of what Freud wrote in his teaching
texts (that clearly are the “bible”
for all my neuropsychologists).
The unconscious
constantly communicates with the conscious mind via our subconscious, and is
what provides us with the meaning to all our interactions with the world, as
filtered through your beliefs and habits. It communicates through feelings,
emotions, imagination, sensations, and dreams.
Under
hypnosis, older people can often remember, with perfect clarity, events from
fifty years before. Your unconscious memory is virtually perfect. It is your
conscious recall that is suspect. The function of your subconscious mind
is to store and retrieve data…..talk about the importance of our mind….that cannot be damaged in a TBI.
The
unconscious mind comprises mental processes that are inaccessible to
consciousness but that influence judgments, feelings, or behavior. According
to Freud, the unconscious mind is the primary source of human behavior.
A look into
the subconscious: dreams reveal innermost thoughts and emotions. ... While many
may neglect or underestimate their dreams or view them as random firings of
their subconscious, dreams do indeed possess significant meaning. Your nightly
reveries accurately portray your deepest thoughts and feelings. In Sigmund
Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality, the conscious mind consists of
everything inside of our awareness. This is the aspect of our mental processing
that we can think and talk about in a rational way. ... Things that are in the
unconscious are only available to the conscious mind in disguised form.
This
actually explains very well my personal belief that in my dreams I’m still
talking with Jesus, not my own mind…….in the end…..it’s still intact and VERY POWERFUL.
