MY SIN OF PRIDE

I’m certainly not a genius but maybe I finally figured out the reason that had me get into such a horrible punishment of pains and losses.
I had imagined the following several reasons for having left in NH a sure presidential appointment in the company I had been working at for 3 years doing – as always and usual for me - a very good job with various levels of responsibilities and I’m going to list these reasons here not in order of importance:
·         Bring back to California, in a beautiful town/location for my Queen (who was born not far from here)
·         Bring my two treasure in a very civilized location where both the social level and education are truly not comparable with what was available in the middle of the  Appalachian Trail, 2.5 hours driving distance from Boston (=good schools)
·         A wealthy and upscale place to bring my family to live....(no more elks and bears as neighbors)
However in thinking very hard, I finally realized that my only real reason for leaving NH behind to go to CA was – for the most – a simple matter of selfish pride.
Now, given my passion for the Italian writer who fixed my language forever in history I want to add his perspective on the sin of pride as he wrote of it in his Divine Comedy.
Pride is the worst of the capital sins, with the sole exception of sloth, they are defined by Dante Alighieri as perverse or corrupt versions of love for something or another: lust, gluttony, and greed are all excessive or disordered love for good things; sloth is a deficiency of love; wrath, envy, and pride are perverted love. In my case it’s about the perverted love for me. I really cannot add much to this concept that represents a true “eye opener” for me, therefore I invite my readers to go to the websites I link here and to enjoy the Youtubes, that – as usual – took me some time to choose for this post. In case you are wondering why I got punished this harshly for committing this sin, I invite you to read again and better my posts where I said that we all are our own God (we are made in His image and likeness) and go to the one where I talked about the Italian minister Aldo Moro and his atrocious death.
