Few days ago I discovered that there's a Ralphs grocery
store not far from where I'm now living alone, I went there to buy something to
snack on with much proteins and drinks that I like to have on my desk all day
long.
Much to my pleased surprise they carry a soda drink
completely Italian, the San Pellegrino blood orange soda that I pretty much
grew up drinking it.
The hilarious part of my grocery shopping is that as I was
at the cash register to pay for my shopping, the cashier noticed (as always) my
different accent and asked me where I'm from (certainly not from Mars) and as I
told that I'm Italian he made a big smile saying: "ha that's why you like
to drink this shit" I must say that I
found it impossible not to start laughing very loud and while my mouth was wide
open for my laughing I managed to say: "I grew up drinking this shit because I can swallow it just like it's
water and as it goes in my stomach it refreshes my mouth even if it isn't cold
from a fridge". This shit has been making
my day not only yesterday, but today too and I believe it's very probably going
to make my week and month too.
This brings me to say that my former Ventura caregiver was
correct when she was telling me that there are people in much worse conditions
than mine and that I should be grateful to still be alive, this also connects
perfectly to what my idol Richard Hawking often says: "as long as there's
life, there's hope" and if I think of how his life has been since he was
very young, I'm confirmed that God truly exists, how could he live and make his
amazing research in those conditions if God hasn't chosen him to have the great
brain he has?
