ICEBREAKERS

There must have been some initial large investment of money for these 2 doctors who I call “icebreakers” because they’ve started much earlier than the complete medical environment to treat using a TNF-alpha medication (Etanercept or Enbrel) to tre
at victims like me to have neurological improvements following either a stroke or TBI (= brain damage).
Normally whenever someone starts doing something new with success there’s a number of “followers” filing right behind the innovators or icebreakers, but this is the case that makes the complete exception, I can’t believe that it’s just a matter of the money needed for the initial investment, that can be made again by treating the first few patients, given that the basic ingredient is pretty inexpensive and not much of it, is really needed.
The sad result of this exception is that I’m going to have to wait for the “potential” future approval of the use of Enbrel for TBI by the FDA that only someone else – other than Amgen/Pfizer – will fund for the medical testing (trial) and approval.
These two “icebreakers” are geniuses for having been able to see and forecast the payoff of their investment or maybe they really took very seriously their Hippocratic Oath of dedication to the improvement of their patients’ conditions.
Again it’s very possible that my complete ignorance of the “guess-science” is making me see this case in a very twisted way, but I still I cannot figure out a reason why none of my doctors hasn’t at least accepted my begging to at least “try” it, especially given that all they keep doing all day long with all of their patients is to “try” to prescribe something that nobody ever knows if it’ll work for them/their conditions.

As I’ve been writing here for months I’m left only with the wish/hope that at next year’s worldwide neurological convention there will be agreement among all these scientists of guessing that using Enbrel can truly help the neurological recovery of an injured brain. Only 5 more months…..

MY STRENGTH OF CARACHTER

I’m told by many that what I say in writing here in my blog gives inspiration to “hang tough” in many situations on a daily basis because very often when things don’t seem to go in the right way many of my readers here think of me and of all the wrongs that keep happening to me that they decide that what they see as wrong to them isn’t too bad when compared to me and therefore they can soon overcome their sense of discomfort and by keeping on working and trying even harder they can overcome whatever it is that’s giving problems to them and make them feel like losers in what they are doing.

The priest who actually brings communion to me where I’m imprisoned every Sunday told me recently that what I write in my blog even inspires him and that maybe this is the mission in my life that God gave for me to fulfill.

While I can be glad to have a group of followers who take inspiration from my tragedies through this blog, I hope that it’s very clear to everyone that I never asked to receive such a challenge in my life, I actually think that I did have my share of real challenges in life already, that – given that I passed them all – I really never asked nor needed this tough/bad one.

I mean, I surely do appreciate what Fr. Blanco told me about my tragedy but I believe that he said so, simply to encourage me to support such misery that only someone blind can’t see.

What’s absolutely sure without any doubt however is that my God given strength of character will help me pass and forget all about this additional test for sure.
